With a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from The University of Manchester and a first career in academic research, Liv applies her rigorous analytical skills and evaluation of the latest scientific publications to keep up to date with changing best practices in the industry. This translates into a more resilient and well thought out garden that will stand the test of time. Using the design skills gained from the prestigious Yorkshire School of Garden Design where she completed a Diploma in Garden Design in 2023, her gardens not only work aesthetically but are inherently well designed. Liv loves to collaborate and looks to engage with local crafts people and experts as much as possible, to showcase the local vernacular and give a true ‘spirit of the place’.

Having spent her childhood roaming free on the family farm in rural Ireland, listening to the tales of Celtic folklore and observing the seasons which are so crucial to rural existence, a deep respect for nature was formed. Liv loves nothing more than a forage, and is often found rummaging in hedgerows whilst walking her two rescue greyhounds in the Peak District, sampling berries and picking things for wild crafting. Liv is taking this self-exploration to the next level by studying a Diploma in Herbology with the Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh where she expects to translate this knowledge of ethnobotany to her garden designs.
